Our Beloved mom, grandmother and great grandmother.

Phyllis Hilkey was 87 years old. She passed away in Medford Oregon on 9/12/2017 with family by her side. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday 9/23/2017 at 10 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 745 North 10thSt, Central Point Oregon. A reception will follow at the house of her grandson Josh Cole.

Phyllis was born on 9/30/1929 in Michigan City Indiana. She is the daughter of Flora Ford and Wilber Wilken. She was raised and graduated from high school in Niles Michigan. She is survived by her younger brother Robert Wilken.

She was married to Wenting (Sonny) Hilkey who has preceded her in death.

She is the Beloved mother of 5 children: Brenda Mcclure, Tamara Nash, Dale Hilkey, Dianna Jensen. Her son Douglas Hilkey preceded her in death.

She is the beloved grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 30 great- grandchildren.

She retired after working many years at Harry and David.

Phyllis enjoyed bowling, gardemomg. camping and fishing, and family activities. She was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, especially devotions and singing hymns from her hymnal. Her favorite song was Jesus Loves Me. That was always her first request.

She would eagerly sign up many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren for Bible school at Gloria Dei. She would bring them also to help out at times in the food bank or to help, Grandpa and Grandma clean the church.

Her greatest accomplishment was raising her children and seeing them grow in their faith. Sharing her faith with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her joy. She had a love for Christ Jesus and she was always willing to talk about Him. She looked forward to going home and being with Jesus.

We want to thank all of our mom’s church family and her friends for the love and support you have given her over the years. She treasured the relationships she had with you. You Blessed her in ways you may never know. While we will miss her we know that it is only temporary. We will see her again in heaven.

Thank you and Christ’s Peace to you.
